Going into the final match they needed just one point to secure the title, and despite a tight contest, they got the job done in style.
Kirkby B 5–4 Sports B
DBL: 2–1, SNG: 3–3
It was a tense finish at the Black Swan Inn, with Kirkby B edging Sports B 5–4 to confirm top spot. After taking two of the three doubles, they did just enough in the singles to get over the line and secure the title.
Key singles wins from Jack Butler, John Corner and Ian McGreevy proved decisive, while Sports B pushed them all the way in a proper end-of-season battle.
Nunthorpe 8–1 Kirkby A
DBL: 3–0, SNG: 5–1
Nunthorpe capped off their first season in the league by securing second place, finishing strongly with a dominant 8–1 win. A clean sweep in the doubles set the tone before they carried that momentum into the singles to round off an excellent campaign, just falling short of the title.
James Hartley, Gary Fields and Jason Rowden were all in top form on the night, underlining a superb season from Nunthorpe.
Sports A 7–2 Ayton
DBL: 3–0, SNG: 4–2
Sports A rounded off their season with a convincing 7–2 win over Ayton. A strong start in the doubles gave them control, and they backed it up well in the singles to finish on a high.
Matthew Brown, James Rowney and Jordan Phillips all contributed important frames as Sports A secured third place.
Final Table
Kirkby B finish as champions on 108 points, with Nunthorpe Rec runners-up on 103. Sports A and Sports B both finish on 88, followed by Ayton on 77 and Kirkby A on 73.
