Week 4 delivered tension, comebacks and movement at the top of the table. Doubles shaped the flow of the night. Kirkby B produced a 7–2 win over Ayton, while Nunthorpe Rec continued their impressive debut season. Sports A overturned a 0–3 deficit to edge Kirkby A in a final-frame decider.

Kirkby B 7 – 2 Ayton

Doubles: 2 – 1 | Singles: 5 – 1

A dominant display from the reigning champions. Kirkby B took the doubles advantage before powering through the singles with composed finishes from Lee Murphy, Ian McGreevy and Brian Dea. This fixture also featured a family storyline, as Ian McGreevy faced both his brother and nephew in competitive play (much to the disappointment of his mum)

Nunthorpe Rec 6 – 3 Sports B

Doubles: 1 – 2 | Singles: 5 – 1

Sports B edged the doubles 2–1, but Nunthorpe Rec stormed the singles with a 5–1 turnaround. James Hartley, Peter Fields and Gary Fields led the comeback, showing why Nunthorpe are already one of the most consistent sides in the league in only their first season.

Sports A 5 – 4 Kirkby A

Doubles: 0 – 3 | Singles: 5 – 1

A dramatic contest and the only match to reach a deciding frame. Kirkby A swept the doubles to lead 3–0, but Sports A fought back in the singles. A key moment saw Jordan Phillips pot a difficult black at an angle to keep Sports A alive, before Matthew Brown won the deciding frame at 4–4 to complete the comeback.

Player of the Week

Lee Murphy (Kirkby B)
Outstanding across both formats. Lee won his singles and his doubles frame in the 7–2 win over Ayton and now sits top of the overall player statistics for the season, leading the league in consistency and win percentage.
